Christmas Gifts for the Traveler in Your Life (or me...)

Hey everyone! As I write this, Christmas is only 7.5 weeks away! To help you out, I've taken the liberty of compiling a list of kick ass gifts for the favorite traveler (or me....cough numbers 1, 7, 9) in your life.

1. New Trent iCarrier

Why it's awesome:

This bad boy practically guarantees that you'll never run out of juice for your gadgets again (at least not for a good LONG while!). Weighing in at only 2lbs, it'll recharge your phone, tablet, camera and more six times on a single charge, and is guaranteed 500+ charges by the manufacturer. Perfect for your next around the world trip.

Price: $55 (available at this moment on amazon.com for $33.95!)

2. Scrubba

 Why it's awesome:

Dear Lord, this could have saved us SO much money on our last Eurotrip. I'm talking about you, $80 US Dollars for laundry. That was a painful punch to the wallet.

Scrubba is a mini, ultra-portable washing machine, which allows you to hand wash your laundry in under 3 minutes. It weighs a mere 5oz, and folds to pocket size when not in use. It's twice as effective as hand washing, and gets your clothes just as clean as a washer thanks to their flexible internal washboard. A bit of an investment at $65, this includes international shipping, and still would have been cheaper than spending $80 US to do laundry in Ireland, with the added bonus of it being reusable.

Price: $65

3. Sawyer Mini Water Filter

Why it's awesome:

Weighing in at 2oz and small enough to fit into the palm of your hands, this is a perfect stocking stuffer for the outdoor enthusiast and traveler. You can use the filter on either the included pouch (shown above), or you can stick it into a filled bottle or glass of water (it fits most threads of store-purchased water bottles), or even directly into a stream.
It's 0.1-micron filter physically removes 99.99999% of all bacteria, such as salmonella, cholera and E.coli; removes 99.9999% of all protozoa, such as giardia and cryptosporidium (which, if you've ever taken a Microbiology class, you know that you don't want to f*$k with that shit!)

Price: $24.95

4. The World's Best Street Food by Lonely Planet

 Why it's awesome:

Street food....duh! One of the coolest parts about traveling is trying new things, starting with local cuisine. It also includes recipes to duplicate your favorites at home!

Price: $18.00

5. Coordinate Necklace

 Why it's awesome:

I've been itching to get myself one for a while now with the coordinate to Edinburgh, Scotland, which is my absolute favorite city in the whole wide world. It's a simple, chic statement piece that goes with anything in your wardrobe. I have a matching one with my wedding date in Roman numerals, and I get so many compliments on it (bonus: the seller sells them also!).

6. Mobile Foodie Survival Kit

 Why it's awesome:

I had to throw in another one for the foodies: have you ever been away from home, and your food comes out and it's just blahhhhhh? Well this kit is the answer! It comes loaded with Sea Salt, Black Pepper, Cayenne, Onion, Basil, Cinnamon, Oregano, Garlic, Thyme, Curry, Rosemary, Ginger, Dill. Each pot holds about 1.5 tablespoons of seasoning, and is refillable. You're welcome.

Price: $26

7. SleepPhones

Why it's awesome:

I've actually been looking into these recently to use at home to drown out the terrible, god awful noise that my husband makes when he sleeps. It's made of super soft fleece, and has two built-in speakers inside, making it easy to doze off to your favorite music or sounds. As an added bonus, it comes with a free app that allows you to download free sounds, such as soothing waves. It's the perfect device to drown out the sound of your snoring seat mate (or husband).

Price: $40

8. Exercise Cards

 Why it's awesome:

For the fitness buff traveler, Exercise Cards let you get in your workout anywhere, anytime without any equipment. The waterproof cards contain 40 bodyweight exercises,
10 stretches and 6 easy-to-follow workout routines – everything you need for fun intensive 15-minute workouts you can do anywhere – your living room, hotel, beach, park or the gym – without equipment or guess work. Just shuffle the deck and build your workout!

Price: $24.95

9. Monogrammed Chevron Satchel Bag

Why it's awesome:

Monogrammed...chevron....satchel. No further explanation needed. You can pick between lots of print colors and monogram options. If anyone's curious, I'd really like the Navy Chevron with the white monogram please.

Price: $54.50

10. Sholdit Infinity Travel Scarf

 Why it's awesome:

Pickpocketing is always something that's on your mind when traveling-even (and especially) in the most tourist-friendly places. Since my husband hates traveling, and I usually end up going with one of my best girlfriends, it's always a concern-especially mugging or purse snatching. Every girl loves a good infinity scarf-it goes with everything. This one has hidden pockets, with enough space for a passport, cash, credit cards, and other essentials. This comes in handy double at the airport-throw your important stuff in there, and when it's time for security, just take the whole thing off to scan. Because I know that you don't want to be THAT asshole at the airport. Don't know what asshole I'm talking about? CLICK HERE.

Price: $30

11. Vinnibag Inflatable Travel Bag (aka your booze protector)

 Why it's awesome:

I know 11 is a random number to do a list for, but when I was researching item 10, I came across this and it definitely deserves an honorable mention. And since it's my blog, I can do 11 items if I want. So there.

If you're like me, you're always trying to figure out just how much booze you can smuggle through Customs without getting caught. And even if you manage to get it all in, it does you no good if it doesn't survive the trip back home. Enter Vinnibag-a self-inflatable booze protector. Sure, it also protects other stuff, such as china or other breakable chotskie crap that you've accumulated on your trip. But that 20 year old bottle of Scotch? MUCH more important.

Price: $30

That's all for now-check back soon.
